Installation Notes ------------------ * Set your Windows display to standard VGA display driver before installing our display drivers. * We recommended that you run our INSTALL.EXE program from the DOS prompt. * If you wish to change your resolution at any time, use the InControl Tools which is located in the lower left hand corner of your Windows 3.1 Desktop or in the Control Panel. To update Viper Pro Video Windows 3.1x Drivers v2.0x -> v2.03D: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Run Windows 3.1x Setup and select VGA display driver. 2. Exit Windows 3.1x completely. 3. From the DOS prompt, run the INSTALL.EXE program located on the Viper Pro Video Windows 3.1 display driver disk. The following Windows 3.1x drivers are included: ----------------------------------------------- Resolution Colors Displayed 640x480 256 65,536 16,777,216 800x600 256 65,536 16,777,216 1024x768 256 65,536 16,777,216* 1280x1024 256 65,536* 16,777,216* 1600x1200 256 65,536* * 4 Megabytes of onboard memory required. Special Note for VL-BUS users: ------------------------------ Default Memory Base Address for Windows 3.1 is 80000000. Some motherboards do not support this address. Windows will be blank screen or lock-up. To change the Memory Base Address for Windows 3.1, you will need to follow these instructions: 1. Use a text editor and edit you system.ini file (located in your Windows directory). 2. Locate the section "[P9100.drv]" 3. Insert the line "MemAd=80" (do not include the double quotes). 4. Your system is now set to the Memory Address Base of 80000000. 5. To change the Memory Address Base, set MemAd= to the first two characters of the Memory Base Address that you desire. ie. For example, the entry "MemAd=20" will set the Memory Base Address to 2000000 the next time you enter Windows. 6. Memory Base Addresses available: 20000000 40000000 60000000 80000000 90000000 A0000000 B0000000 C0000000 D0000000 The major changes in Viper PRO Version 2.03D Beta are: --------------------------------------------------------- 1. Fixed all StretchBlt bugs (in all color depths) happened in Adobe 2.51, WP 6.0, Photoshop 2.51, Fratal Design 2.0. 2. Fixed Corel Draw 5.0: Tool bar and icons corrupted. 3. Fixed hang problem when IRQ number in COPRO.INI matches with board IRQ. 4. Fixed hang problem when playing AVI files in Media Player and InControl. 5. Make 2 release disks: files not fitting onto a single 1.44M disk. 6. Fixed GPF in Smart Label Printer Pro. 7. Fixed Quicken 3.0 Rectangle bug. 8. Fixed Rectangle outline bug in Mathcad, Quicken, Bookshelf. 9. Fixed the exit Windows problem when our Video Power IRQ conflicts with another SCSI IRQ on the PCI bus. 10. Fixed GPF in Powerpoint 4.0 with large presentation file by fixing the Ellipse code. 11. Added code to switch ON/OFF the "Disable Video Acceleration" button in InControl. 12. Fixed AutoCAD R13 with Grid On not displayed. 13. Fixed the GPF in FoxPro 2.5 and LabView 3.1 14. Fixed Aladin bug: Pictures are scambled. 15. Fixed locks up when exiting Windows on an AIR systems. 16. Fixed problems with some Viper Pro Video cards dropping frames when playing video.
